★★★ HISTORYRuthless Warrior of the Ferocious Light One of three of the Forces of Reckoning, an elite and elusive team of warriors outcast and taken refuge in shadows. Tales of this violent veilspun's origin, spoken of only in hushed whispers to avoid reaching his ears, speak of danger and destruction surrounding his very birth. Exiled and fleeing for reasons known only to herself, his mother fell along with a crumbling section of the domain of light into the darkest of shadows. Able to save only a single one of her eggs from the beast which pursued her, she tucked herself away in the brambles, lulled by the instinctive urge to return to the place of her species' birth. Taken in by a clan of fellow outcasts, she swore herself to the shadows. How fitting and ironic that her egg, once hatched, would give off the most blinding light of all, the child within's eyes alight with the force of the very sun. Few, including his mother, can bare to meet his gaze. |

★★★ PERSONALITY Though raised in the shadows, Berserk does not have the luxury of hiding that others of his breed are afforded due to the nature of the vibrant light coursing through him. It seemed that all he was was in constant conflict with what he was meant to be, so he became neither. Rather than hiding in the brush and fleeting shadows, he embraced the spirit of wrath, never flinching from any conflict and greeting each challenge head-on. Though he speaks in clipped, reserved tones, he is not afraid to do so, and often puts to use a tongue both sharp and silver for the good of those in his company. He is savage, strong, and unbeatable when he deigns to battle, though he'd prefer to settle matters with polished, often twisted words. Both haughty and cold, he spends his time in business and preparation for the next battle, having little patience for pointless socialization. There is no loyalty within his heart to any flight nor deity, but only to the Forces of Reckoning and their ultimate mission -- the cool shadows serve his purposes well, however, and he has done his part to strengthen them in return to a surprising degree of success. Bright lights cast dark, dramatic shadows, after all, and make a most exquisite distraction from that happening in the dark. |

★★★ CONNECTIONS Berserk is the only member of the Forces of Reckoning with a family in the clan, and it is not a matter he takes likely. Aloof and spurning the thought of outside friendships, he has not been able to sever his heart's connection to his own parents, Lunatic and Divine. Though half-mad from his time spent missing, his father is a kind soul to whom Berserk holds a grudging respect. His mother he loves more than anything, and though he speaks little of the matter his primary reason for fighting is to rectify the wrongs that caused Divine to be exiled and hurt. Perhaps if he finds out the true story and manages to set things right, she'll one day be able to meet his painfully blinding eyes. |
