Erebus and his sisters were the first offspring of Kirinmaru and Rin, mortal enemies turned lovers. As the youngest of four hatchlings, Erebus was not the first heir. Because of this, he was allowed more freedom while his older sisters had to prepare to take the throne.

As a hatchling, Erebus loved exploring with his pet ferret. He especially loved exploring and hiding in enclosed spaces like bags.

One day, Erebus’s explorations did not pan out well for him. He climbed into one of his mother’s bags as she was preparing to travel to Allison’s main realm for the first time. She did not notice him in the bag and took off using her gear.

Unfortunately, Erebus was only a young hatchling and his small body was not equipped to handle the forces involved in dimensional travel. Erebus was dead on arrival.

Shortly after arriving in Allison’s main realm, Erebus’s body was discovered. Shocked and horrified, everyone gasped. Just as the gasps escaped from their mouths, a weak breath came out of the mouth of Erebus. He was alive!... or was he?

Allison and Kali knew that the force from dimension travel killed their young grandson. He has escaped from death's grasp and from the looks of his supposed "dead" ferret, he has natural skills in necromancy as well!

When Rin went back to her dimension, Erebus stayed behind to live in the Rifter Sanctuary with many of his brethren. There, he honed his skills of necromancy and was known for bringing the dead back in order for families to have closure.

Because of his abilities in necromancy, many believe Erebus to be the god of death himself and many non-Rifter settlements (<-- find better word) worship him almost as much as they do the Icewarden!
