B I O G R A P H Y
Tidepool has grown a great deal in the time since he and Iceblossom founded the Rainsky Alliance. He used to be all jokes and smiles, the polar opposite of his cool and composed mate, but now his serious side is present far more often. Following a plague that wiped out much of the clan, he and Iceblossom moved the clan to the Fire flight, seeking a new home, and the aspects of Tidepool that are willing to fight and die for his clan and his family are much more evident. The fact that he has outlasted his children is one that haunts him every day, and Tidepool is determined that no such tragedy should strike the clan again. He will do what it takes to protect those he loves.
Tidepool is a strong opponent, too, so his bravery is far from ringing hollow. He is a powerful mage, using both water magic and healing spells in battle. He believes that he failed his clan once, but he is determined to never do so again. He will continue to grow stronger, no matter what.
Beginnings
Tidepool is a first-generation Water flight dragon, but all the same, he has always felt a remarkably strong connection with his flight. His parents both moved to the Sea of a Thousand Currents from the Wind flight, settling down with a clan on the very outskirts in the Tsunami Flats. Even as a young dragon, despite the devotion to his flight, Tidepool wanted to travel and see the world. With his parents' approval, he started by visiting the Lightning dragons of the Shifting Expanse, and then visited the Light flight's Sunbeam Ruins. Following these ventures, Tidepool made a trip back home to explore the rest of the Sea.
It was during this trip that Tidepool first made a visit to the Spiral Keep to feel more connected to his flight. He was also growing up, and he was beginning to consider career paths and possibilities for his future. He hoped that visiting the home of the Tidelord might give him some insight into things. However, Tidepool arrived and did not just gain wisdom - he met a new friend, who eventually became something more: Iceblossom.
When Iceblossom, looking exhausted and deeply upset, caught up to him shortly after he left the area of the Spiral Keep, Tidepool sensed that there was something different about her, and something bothering her, but he didn't press her for information. Instead, he continued on his travels with Iceblossom at his side, until they eventually settled down in the Tsunami Flats again. Even though she changed a great deal, Tidepool didn't leave her. He had faith in the dragon who he had bonded with so closely and who had become his mate.

____Tidepool had at last found some time for himself, a moment of peace and quiet. He was stretched out on a flat-topped, smooth rock just beneath the surface of the water, sunlight playing over his scales as a gentle current washed over and around him. The sunlight was wonderfully warm, and Tidepool found himself nearly dozing off every few minutes. He loved moments in places like this, a break from having to be a positive, even frequently silly, leader to contrast Iceblossom's more stern and serious personality. It didn't exactly bother him, but at times, it could be quite a lot of work.
After a while of lying on the rock, Tidepool released his grip on an indent in the stone and let the rippling water pull him away. He knew the Sea of a Thousand Currents well enough to find his way back to the lair from just about anywhere. It didn't really matter where the currents took him.
After a few minutes, though, Tidepool noticed that the current was becoming more powerful and was slowly taking him down rather than just forward. Experimentally, he flared his wings and felt the current catch them, suddenly propelling him along twice as fast as he had been swimming previously. Tidepool realized that he had never encountered this current before, but he couldn't seem to swim out of it; it was moving too quickly. He would have to wait until the current split, slowed down, or ended. For a fae dragon it was sometimes more difficult to navigate the Sea, but Tidepool rarely let that stop him. Right now, however, he was sort of regretting it. Iceblossom wouldn't be pleased if he got back late.
When the current finally slowed, Tidepool found himself in a place he hadn't seen in a long time. The current, moving even more quickly than he had thought, had carried him all the way down to the Spiral Keep. The enormous shell stared Tidepool in the face, reminding him of a long-ago journey. The current had even carried him past the guards, or they had simply decided that he didn't look to have harmful intentions. Besides, he was one fae dragon out on his own, carrying nothing with him but a flower. Was it even possible for him to look harmful? With that thought in mind, Tidepool gently reached out and ran his small talons over the smooth shell before him. An image popped into his mind out of nowhere; runes and symbols, some of which he had never even seen before, in a combination that was entirely new to him. He looked down and noticed something lying on the ground, a scrap of paper, surprisingly untouched by time and the Water. The image still in his mind, Tidepool reached down and picked up the scrap of parchment.
There was a sudden flash of light, and an explosion of sand and golden dust, and Tidepool was left spinning in the water. When he managed to stop himself, he looked around in a daze, but nothing seemed to be harmed. As he was moving his wings slowly through the water to keep himself in place, Tidepool noticed with a jolt that there were some strange new markings on them. The markings were spirals and lines and dots, a beautiful pattern, and slightly reminiscent of a few of the symbols he'd seen, but they had certainly never been there before. Tidepool rubbed at the markings, but they didn't even face slightly. Though more thoughts of a different sort would occur to him later, right then, Tidepool thought of only one thing.
This is going to be some story.
