Biography
Warning! Abuse, violence, manipulation, and death are mentioned in this dragon's bio!
Does thou want to live deliciously?
---
Clan's grave tender, keeper of the dead. He makes sure the fallen are buried properly and, in most cases, the way they wished to be buried. Karam takes care of the wills of the fallen dragons, though he does not make sure they are enforced save for what to do with the bodies. It is rumoured that he practices necromancy, but he denies when asked.Even more rumours suggest that he has been working with Shade magicks in secret. If they are to be believed, he has developed a spell of reincarnation, allowing him to be reborn as one of his brood. While no one in the clan has seen him experiment with this yet, those that choose to believe the rumours know that he is planning to try soon.
---
Recently he has taken a shine to the young Ka. He shows the Imperial affections that he hasn't shown anyone in a long time. While it is true that Karam looks upon Ka with a bit of affection, what the female sees as love, others know that without the rose-tinted glasses things aren't always what they seem.
---
The First Brood
Once his chosen female, Ka, had been ready to breed, Karam was eager to try and breed a suitable heir. Day and night he watched over the eggs, keeping them warm and comfortable. Already he was plotting out what to do should one hatch and be perfect. The First Brood
Unfortunately, when the hatchlings hatched, none turned out to be what he was looking for. While he was disappointed, he did not blame the younglings, for they did not choose to be born how they were. It put a damper on his Grand Plans, but he was thinking of ways to use his children to his benefit. He figured he'd always need new creatures to experiment on.
However, his disappointment grew into anger on the way back to the Clan, and his anger was directed towards Ka. At first, it started with yelling. Snide remarks directed at her, saying she had failed him, that he should find a mate to produce perfect children.
And then, then he turned to violence.
While the hatchlings were off to play or when they were sleeping, he would attack her. He used his bigger size to tackle and push her down before biting, clawing, and stabbing at her with his horns. This, as expected, left her with many marks and scars to show. Yet she still stood with for whatever reason, something that Karam both admired and loathed. It showed that she would stay with him, but at the same time, she failed him and for that, she must be punished.
Since returning to their clan, his violence has not stopped, but the frequency by which he attacks her has gone down. He makes no attempt to hide his mercilessness either, and everyone knows that it happens. Yet he continues to do his job as he did prior, only with more claws in his den.
---
As the hatchlings grew, Karam began to tolerate them less. It came to a point that, once they were adults, they too received the same abuse and punishments as their mother, Ka. In his eyes, the children were nothing more than worthless oxygen wasters. Even the smallest of mistakes triggers his wrath. Ka, early on, tried to protect her children by taking on the punishments in their place. This only angered Karam more, causing his outbursts to be more and more violent.Eventually, Karam found no point in taking out his anger on his failed brood.
One day while working, he was talking out loud; consulting the Shade in his workspace. He, at this point, knew that even the Shade had no use for his children, but, he came to the conclusion that they would finally be useful in death.
Once all preparations had been completed, he told Ka his plans for the children. He was not worried about this, for he figured that he had her loyalty, and even if he did not, he knew for a fact that he could kill all three of them easily. So when the day came for him to bless his children with usefulness, he was surprised to see only one remained in the clan. The female had somehow escaped. This sparked a wave of rage from Karam that he happily took out on his mate and their son.
At the end of it, however, a body is still a body, and his son proved to be useful to the Grand Plan after all.
---
The Second Brood
Once again, it was time for Karam and Ka to try for the perfect brood. The thought that this would be the brood to push his plans to fruition. That he would finally be able to take a grand step towards his plans. Even the fact that the nest was larger than the last one boosted his spirits. Three eggs they'd had, instead of the two from last time. All they had to do now was hatch and pass his extremely high standards. The Second Brood
When the day came that the hatchlings came out of their eggs, Karam gave each of them a look over. However, he only saw failure in this batch as well, even if those young eyes looked up at him with nothing but love and happiness. No harm came to the younglings or their mother this time. Only a severe disappointment and detached care. Soon enough, the children were old and strong enough to make the journey back to the home clan, and Ka seemed to become extremely protective of them. Karam paid this no mind, for the children were of no use to him.
Not even in death did the children prove useful, but death would be a mercy to them.
---
The Break
The time came once more for Karam and his mate to make the journey to Lightning territory to make a nest. However, Karam stayed in his den when the time came. He only left to do his job, and even then, he didn't acknowledge anyone and did what he had to do before making his way back to his workspace. Anything that wasn't his work or his familiar went ignored. He didn't lose himself in his work, for he was conscious enough to know that should he let his body and mind fail, no work could be done. Such a method of living disgusted him.The Break
As it were, he was trying to find out the cause, the flaw that would result in his brood to come out so wrong. It couldn't be himself that was the flaw. He'd made himself perfect after all, there was no way. Begrudgingly, he had to admit that Ka wasn't the flaw either. For he had beaten any sort of imperfection out of her, and that would also be the reason why he knew that she couldn't be sabotaging his project purposefully. Then what could it be?
More research was needed. The time for on hands experimenting could wait in the meantime.

The Third Brood
"Failure..such failure. Why do the Gods torment me so? Shade help me I will finish my experiment even if it kills me."

The Fourth Brood
"How curious.."The Fourth Brood
Karam had looked over his children when they had hatched. Two of them had eyes the likes of which he'd never seen, one of the two even had a belly filled with shade-like essence. He liked that son more than the others and paid more attention to him, studying him. Naturally, the other two were ignored. Karam had no interest in those rejects. While this child of his was not perfect he felt he could have some use for him.
The time came for them to make their way back towards home. He named his son Aragam for how helpful he would be, the others having no name. Whatever their mother called them would suffice.
Upon arriving home, special treatment was given to Aragam, he was the progress Karam had been looking for in his experiment. He was some progress that made it all worthwhile in the string of failures he had been getting.
However, before the hatchlings grew too old to do more than walk around and be cared for, he turned to Ka, his mate and ordered her to dispose of the remaining children. He had no use for them and all of his attention would be focused on Aragam after all. He knew she would not fail him.
When she brought him proof of her work, he had never felt so proud of her.
