Biography
I was born on the Reedcliff Ascent at one of the highest points in the Wind Flight. From the moment I looked down to the water rushing hundreds of meters below, I realized that I was a dragon of the wind, born to glide, plummet, and dance in the air. I was a Skydancer.
Once I was 1 week old, my wings grew strong enough for me to glide along the lowest, softest breezes. Even though I wasn’t strong enough to go as high as my parents, I took pride in my every step. My brother on the other hand, had grown to 3 months old turn out to be daring, and nearly fell into the rapids below on numerous occasions. But that make him fearless, fearless enough to say that he wanted to serve the Windsinger.
My parents were very surprised, as he was close with them. We all knew that once you were exalted, there was an extremely small chance you would be allowed to return to your Clan. But my brother made his decision, and one week later, he said his goodbyes and parted ways.
My parents began to devote all of their time and attention to me, they couldn’t bear to loose another one of their young. Once I was 4 weeks old, I was the best flier in my Clan. I didn’t want to serve, but I wanted to see what freedom was. I wanted to explore the other flights from above. So I explained to my mother and father. They were sad to see me leave the clan, but I told them I would visit them soon.
As I dove off the cliff, the adrenaline was real. Not from the plummet I took, but from this strange new sense that I had nothing stopping me. I flew higher and further than I ever had before. I realized I was in the Lightning Flight, and I descended towards the ground. I nearly crashed into a tawny tan and blue dragon, which I recognized to be another Skydancer.
She introduced herself as Glaze, and so did I. We talked for hours about our lives and the places we had already been, where we wanted to go, what we wanted to see, and the future we wanted. She suddenly stopped and invited me back to her Clan to stay for a bit, so I obviously accepted. She was the first foreign friend I made, and she soon became more than a friend.
One day, I began telling the hatchlings about my home back it the Wind Flight, about how green it was. Some of the other dragons in the clan commented about how the Wind Flight was the most beautiful place they had ever been, and the Clan Leaders decided to take a trip there. Everyone was stunned at the lush greenery, the complete opposite of the barren desert we had been part of before. Everyone took a vote, and the descision to move our Clan to the Wind Flight. I now teach the new hatchlings how to fly!
