A dragon from Pest's Plague Lair who joined the Purble Place clan on August 27, 2022.
A terrible accident caused her to lose most of her memories. She remembers leaving a lair to travel... or was it maybe a hunting trip? Maybe she was visiting a lair and was getting ready to return home? Then a sudden storm... thunder... lightning... and then darkness. She later woke up in the Scarred Wastelands, scared and confused, and began wandering aimlessly, hoping to miraculously regain her memories.
In her weakened state, she could not defend herself when Pest's followers found her. Quickly defeated and captured, she was brought to his lair and branded as one of the many Forsaken, destined to be forcibly exalted in the name of the Plaguebringer. With her spirit destroyed, she accepted her fate. She tried to find solace by nesting with a fellow Forsaken, but he had been heavily conditioned by the Plague Lair's ways and believed exaltation to be every dragon's life goal, disregarding her worries. Playing with the little Guardian, also named Forsaken, that hatched from their nest gave her some fleeting moments of joy, but the knowledge that he would one day be conditioned and exalted as well would quickly replace those positive feelings.
Then one day, a delegation from an allied Shadow lair arrived for a scheduled diplomatic visit. She watched the visitors from afar, but still caught the attention of the group's Nocturne, Nightwing. Noticing her curiosity, he quickly approached her and greeted her. His warm and gentle demeanor was so different from that of the Plague Lair's dragons, and his youthful energy brought back memories and feelings from her youth... She felt like she could trust him with anything. In the following days they would meet often to chat. She asked him many questions about his lair, and the discovery that not all lairs force their dragons to be exalted was life-changing. Had she woken up near Nightwing's lair in Wispwillow Grove, maybe life would have taken a different turn for her...
Well, why don't you come with me to Purble Place?, Nightwing asked.
That simple question sparked new hope in her heart that had long forgotten it. She quickly agreed and told Nightwing to wait while she went to pick up her hatchling. This was it. This was her and little Forsaken's ticket to freedom. They could finally forge their own ways in life, free from a destiny chosen for them by someone else. But a shocking discovery awaited her. While she was chatting away with Nightwing, an exaltation ceremony had taken place. Her companion was already gone. She rushed to her nest... only to find it empty. She asked the other dragons where her hatchling was, only to be met with vague and unclear answers. Could they... have exalted him too? Despite just being a hatchling?!, she thought, before letting anger take over and lashing out against Pest's followers. That was the last straw. She couldn't bear to stay in a lair that sent hatchlings to battle. Pest did not protest, and allowed her to leave with the Purble Place delegation.
Upon arriving home, Nightwing quickly brought her to Medea's chambers. He introduced her to the Queen and explained the situation. Medea sighed, and spoke with her new clan member...
I can't imagine what you've been through while at Pest's lair... But you can rest easy now. Purble Place is more than a lair. We are a family, and we always care and support each other, whatever the world may throw against us. Ah, but Nightwing hasn't mentioned your name yet...
Nightwing disliked the name Forsaken for the implications behind it, and she now hated it as well. She needed a new name, something to celebrate the dawn of her new life... Daybreak.

Important Events:

• On September 21, 2022, Daybreak left Purble Place for a romantic getaway with Nightwing in Adrasteia's Light Kingdom. There she was surprised to meet her long lost first hatchling, Forsaken, who she believed was exalted along with her first companion in Pest's Plague Lair. It turned out he just wandered away from the nest and got lost while playing with other hatchlings. Mother and son were overjoyed to see each other again after so long and spent a lot of time together recounting their adventures. Daybreak expressed guilt for seemingly abandoning her own son, but he assured her that he held no resentment towards her. Towards the end of her stay, she was asked by Forsaken to take care of one of his own hatchlings, Cinderlad, the only one he was able to save from being sent back to Pest's Lair to be exalted. Daybreak accepted, and with both Matriarchs' approval as well, she returned home to Purble Place on September 26, 2022 along with Nightwing, her daughter Sunset and her grandson Cinderlad.
• On September 26, 2022, during their stay in Adrasteia's Light Kingdom, Daybreak and Nightwing welcomed their first clutch of hatchlings into the world. It consisted of 3 female Nocturnes: Nocturnal, Stella and Sunset. Sunset returned to Purble Place with her parents, but Nocturnal decided to remain in the Light Kingdom with her half-brother Forsaken. Meanwhile, Stella used the lair's Outrealm Gate to travel to the Scarred Wastelands and join Schattentraum's flock, along with her friend Perseus.
• On October 31, 2022, Daybreak and Nightwing welcomed their second clutch of hatchlings into the world. It consisted of 1 male Nocturne and 1 female Nocturne: Twili and Lacerta. Both of the young Nocturnes visited the lair's Outrealm Gate and started exploring the world...
• On December 25, 2022, Daybreak and Nightwing welcomed their third clutch of hatchlings into the world. It consisted only of 1 male Nocturne: Comet, who visited the lair's Outrealm Gate and started exploring the world...
