Biography
I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
You got that hair slicked back and those Wayfarers on, baby
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone
As a young unnamed spiral Wayfarer became smitten with a beautiful skydancer, but the dragoness had no interest in him. Instead she flitted from lover to lover, seeming to take satisfaction in flaunting the relationships in front of him, until finally she became the consort to their clan's leader. It was at her suggestion that her new mate ejected the spiral from the clan.
He wandered on his own for a long time, traveling the whole world over, then traveling some more. Occasionally a clan would allow him to stay, but sooner or later watching the mated pairs with their hatchlings became too much for him, and he would strike out on his own again. In the absence of a clan he learned how to hunt, how to defend himself, and a skill that most spirals never learn: the art of silence. During these travels he also chose a fitting name for himself-- Wayfarer.
His life continued like this until one day Wayfarer caught his reflection in a pond and realized that the young spiral was gone-- he was old. And he could hardly remember what the skydancer looked like anymore. From that point he decided that there was bound to be a clan that could use a silent, self-sufficient hunter and that it was finally time to stop running.
