The grim symbolism of chrysanthemums in France is from the end of the First World War. Back then, the flowering of the graves of the soldiers was decided. During Autumn, the only flower that can be used as a funeral composition is the chrysanthemum, as it is strong enough to survive through winter. The flowering date of military cemeteries finally merged with the celebration of the dead, November 2, to make the chrysanthemum the flower of Toussaint.

Chrysanthème is the lonely graveyard keeper of the clan. He is mostly non verbal, the only exception being when someone asks him about the "Residents", as he calls them. He is extremely understanding when dragons need a few hours alone with their lost relatives, and doesn't shy away from doing overtime if someone comes in late.
