Biography
There was once a small Veilspun that was hatched under the starlit sky of Starfall Isles, and was granted a blessing that allowed her very body to look like the star-flecked sky above.
The downside to such a blessing? Sharp, prickly thorns lined her body, making her nigh impossible to touch without one pricking themselves. She was to be beautiful, but untouched. So she closed her heart away, accepting that fate would have her be alone, counting the shifting stars and constellations on her body.
That is, until another Veilspun found where she had sequestered herself away, absolutely taken by her beauty and not at all fearful of her thorns, as much as she pushed him away at first. Demetrius only fell in love harder. He courted her as any good dragon would, bringing her gifts and tokens of his affection-- not pushing her to touch yet.
But eventually, she allowed him to try to get closer, bracing herself for when he inevitably hurt himself and left her, deeming her beauty too painful for him to tolerate. Though, that never happened. His touch was gentle, and careful as he traced the stars along her body-- and when he eventually sidled closer for their first cuddle, he didn't mind the thorns; the scales on his own body were hard and protective, allowing him to be the first dragon who dared to be close to the bethorned starlit beauty.
And they've been inseparable since.
