Biography
Caz

There is much Caz will not tell you about his life. In fact, he won’t tell you a thing. He is quiet and withdrawn, a strong stalwart rock within the clan. Compassion and kindness are beyond his grasp, having been beaten from him when he was just a hatchling. Now, he utilizes his prowess and determination in the only way he knows: training the clan’s dragons in tactics against the Beastclans. Caz will never reveal his past. Not even the elders of the clan know it and they have since given up asking. Rumors float around the clan, particularly among its youngest members. What I know, I have coaxed from his long-time mate, who has since left the clan. Now, I share it with you in the hopes you do not judge Caz harshly and unfairly. Right after he hatched, after mere loving hours with his parents, the tiny hatchling was stolen in the dead of night by Snatchers. They, as Snatchers do, sold him to a Master to make a profit. Despite Caz’s tender age he was immediately thrust into combative training. He was still but a hatchling when he killed his first opponent. Such an event at any age would scar someone. To a mere child it was crippling. He fought in The Pits for some time following his first victory. His only protection were some cloth wraps and the knowledge he may one day be free. Even now, much later, he bears the scars of his victories. After many fights he tired of his life and settled on one last fight: a fight to freedom. He was determined to make it out of The Pits and did not fear if he succumbed in the process. The fact we are able to talk about it now clearly indicates that he was victorious this final time and fought his way to freedom. Yet, a more horrific scene has never been witnessed off the battlefield. Occasionally Caz will steal away from his clan. Some think that he goes to mourn those he killed in The Pits and during his flight to freedom. Others believe that he looks for a new mate with which to share the rest of his free life. Me? I know better than to mistake his absences for sentiment. Vengeance boils deep inside him. Caz still has not found those who took him from his home. I do not think Caz can rest until all those who begot his suffering lie dead at his feet. |
