About
plaguemidsmall.png

Tyche is a newly appointed Warden, assigned to her prison after the previous Warden's murder. Granted only a few subordinates and inheriting all of the problems her predecessor allowed to fester, she feels the weight of the expectations on her -- but she thrives under pressure, and she knows that this assignment is well within her ability. Tyche sees the chaos in her area as a challenge: she will either succeed and eliminate it, or she will fail and die. And she does not have time to plan her funeral.

Tyche feels the pressure of her bloodline: both of her grandparents are some of the most accomplished C-Is in the order, and bloodlines are important; when she was old enough to make the decision, Tyche resolved not to let that pressure influence her. She abandoned her birth name, advanced through the order on her own merit, and has at every turn attempted to distance her own accomplishments from those of her blood family. She can't ever know that she didn't become a Warden because of her blood, but she chooses to believe it was her own skill that advanced her this far.

Her expectations are high and she demands absolutely loyalty from her subordinates, but she is surprisingly encouraging to those who think outside the box. All of her high-priority targets are clever and have out-maneuvered the order at every turn; it will take clever and unconventional dragons to catch them.

Carnage-Ichor Warden

Wardens are the leaders of their prisons, in charge of overseeing the running of it; they ensure all regulations and expectations of the order are followed correctly. There are only a handful of Wardens in the order, and they were appointed by the Plaguebringer herself. They are the strongest warriors in their brigade, and always have glowing eyes.

Tyche worked herself to the bone to catch the Plaguebringer's attention and become a Warden, and now that she has the position she coveted she intends to prove herself worthy. Her prison may be small, but her subordinates are resourceful and clever -- as clever as the dragons they are trying to catch. Tyche knows that how well her prison is run reflects on her, and that reflects in the way she tries to run it: expecting both perfect adherence to the rules and clever thinking around those rules.

Loyalties
plaguemidsmall.png

Tyche is absolutely loyal to the Carnage-Ichor order and everything it stands for; she will not be swayed in that by anything. They are protecting the Scarred Wasteland from dragons that bring nothing but chaos and suffering to it, and their methods are sometimes terrible -- Tyche finds herself especially disgusted by the Stained Ones, abominations that they are -- but the C-I order is fighting to make the Scarred Wasteland more orderly, and Tyche will fight for that.

She is a talented leader, and commands respect from her subordinates; her open encouragement for them to come to her with suggestions and ideas, regardless of rank, has made her popular. Tyche is willing to listen to any dragon who might have something that could help them against the fugitives they are pursuing. She does not get on particularly well with her Tactician, Enheduanna, but she does respect him and his strategic mind, and puts aside their differences while on-duty.

She has little connection to her blood family; she is not interested in a relationship with them, and the extent of their communication is kept business-related. She is careful to hide her distaste for those who see her as an extension of her relatives, but those who know her well know it's there. Tyche wants to be recognized as herself, not as the creation of any other dragon. She is only filling her own shoes.

Magic
plaguemidsmall.png

Inborn Strength
plaguemidsmall.png
plagueshieldl.png
While not magic, Tyche does possess something all other Carnage-Ichors have: their remarkable strength. She is near-invulnerable and has the power of many dragons her size, which she puts to great use when the situation demands it. She is a skilled warrior and the strongest fighter in her prison.
plaguemidsmall.png
Eye Magic
plaguemidsmall.png
Glowing eyes are bestowed upon Wardens by the Plaguebringer herself, and are a symbol of power and status. She can induce any kind of neurological disorder in those she uses it on, and can also take complete control of a target's nervous system. These abilities set her apart from her subordinates, and she is not afraid to use them.

Relationships
plaguemidsmall.png

68225148.png
Enheduanna

Tactician | He/him

When the previous Warden perished, Tyche was assigned to her new prison with only a few subordinates to staff it. Enheduanna was one of them: a Tactician sent to replace the one who fell alongside the previous Warden. Tyche does not care for him at all. The two of them have clashed multiple times, just because of their personalities. Tyche recognizes that En is an exemplary Tactician; she simply does not like his company, and doubts she ever will.

QEv3BeG.png
Auryon

Subordinate | He/him

One of the only dragons that stayed in this prison after the previous Warden's demise, Auryon was something of a boon to Tyche. He helped her and the others get settled in and caught them up on the goals of the previous Warden, making the transition easier for everybody. Tyche admires his dogged pursuit of fugitives, even in his off-hours, and she grants Auryon a level of trust, not scrutinizing the way he spends his time.

plaguemid.png

57460578.png
Hemlock

Priority Target | He/xe

Hemlock is the Malice Ichor responsible for the death of the previous Warden, and that has painted a massive target on his back. Tyche has declared him the highest-priority target fugitive in her prison's jurisdiction, and intends to hunt him down personally if she must. It is unacceptable that a dragon capable of killing a Warden remains at large; it doesn't scare Tyche, but it does infuriate her.

plaguemid.png

QEv3BeG.png
Sacrosanct

Prisoner | They/it

Sacrosanct is a long-time prisoner of the prison Tyche was assigned to; records indicate that they were not captured under the previous Warden's oversight, but under the one before that. Sacrosanct is an incredibly dangerous prisoner, manipulative and seemingly working toward unknown goals even in prison, but also a very knowledgeable one. Tyche is very carefully interrogating them, because Sacrosanct knows things about the Scarred Wasteland that could be useful to her.

plaguemid.png

66092926.png
Absalom

Target | She/her

Absalom is a Stained One openly planning a prison break not only from Tyche's prison, but from every prison that holds any Stained Ones. For obvious reasons, Tyche can't allow this to continue: she is determined to be the Warden that secures this particular target. Absalom is hardly a threat, of course, but if Tyche managed to capture a dragon with such lofty goals, it would earn her respect entirely of her own creation.

Incident Report

Report Regarding: A strange... encounter.

After a routine patrol, several of the C-Is reporting in gave drastically different descriptions of what, exactly, they had encountered. Several were angry, others were merely confused, and every reporting C-I blamed a different source of conflict. From their stories, I have gathered that they most likely had an encountered with a Malice-Ichor, and one that showed them powerful illusions. This Mal-Ichor showed each member of the patrol a different image, and caused them to fight among themselves.

A few anonymous excerpts from these reports follow:

1: "At first I thought something had flown overhead, so I looked up; then, when I looked back at my patrol, everyone was glaring at me. I had no idea what for -- I hadn't said anything, hadn't even pointed it out, but I seemed to have drawn their ire anyway. And I couldn't just stand for that! So I asked them what they were looking at, and suddenly they started acting like I'd just insulted the Plaguebringer herself! One of them started swinging at me, so obviously I fought back."

2: "Oh, don't believe a word that idiot says. He's just tryin' to cover for himself after he attacked us. He started boastin' about himself, how he's expectin' a promotion sometime soon, and when we rightly told him to shut up about how much better he thinks he is, he went all I'll prove it and just went for me. It was weird, though, cause when I though he'd hit me I didn't feel a thing, and when I started tryin' to defend myself somethin' felt... off. The whole patrol got involved in the fight, and we had to come back on account of the infightin'. I bet there was somethin' out there that found the whole thing real funny, cause I kept hearing laughter."

3: "I've experienced illusions before, and if I had to make a guess that's what I'd say happened: one moment everything was as-planned, and the next my subordinates were picking fights. I can recognize a trap when I see one, and this was it; I got us back to base as quickly as I could. I don't go into messes like this unprepared, and you can never underestimate illusions. I had half a squad picked up by that nuisance, you know the one: Hemlock? I was not about to let that happen to another."

The leader of the patrol had a strong hunch that this was the work of Hemlock, but I am inclined to doubt. Hemlock is a powerful illusionist, and (as referenced) he has been a dangerous subject to encounter, but his magic is well-reported to only be able to impact one mind at a time. This appears to be a new Malice-Ichor, whose abilities allow them to target multiple dragons at a time -- though the resemblance to Hemlock does suggest that they may be allies. Thus, finding one could mean finding the other.

For the time being, all reports involving illusions or infighting should be compared against reports of both Hemlock and this potential new Malice-Ichor. Hemlock remains a high-priority target for the damage he has done, and if he has an ally that could assist in finding and ultimately killing him, it could be a major victory for us.
