Hailing from the Forum of the Obscured Crescent, Stargazer is repulsed by sunlight, spending the whole day slumped in his shuttered, cluttered room. But when the moons rise, so do his spirits, and he pulls back the blackout curtains of his glass room to take in the panoramic view of the night sky. He shares a stone tower with Chance, having turned the panes of what used to be a lighthouse's lamp into his private observatory while the other Ridgeback practices alchemy in the basement. The two are star-crossed, their horrible sleep schedules and mutual reclusiveness meaning both are almost always holed up in their rooms, too wrapped up in their observing and experimenting to ever find the time for each other despite being just a flight of stairs away. The only real time they spend together is work-related, when they lend each other their magics. Within Stargazer's room is an unusual apparatus that combines Arcane telescopes with Shadow altars that he uses to parse the prophetic paths of the stars, which Chance helped build. The former lighthouse that the two occupy was a location that Stargazer chose quite deliberately. Its high elevation is closer to the sky than anywhere in Shadow territory, and fish is plentiful for the piscivores. But, most importantly, its location in the Water domain is essential to Stargazer's divining. The Sea of a Thousand Currents has a deep connection to the Tangled Wood with whom its borders intertwine (or so he claims), as the neighboring domains share an affinity for the deep and murky, the phases of the moon, the obscure natures of their gods and fortune-telling (though Water's is more of the scrying type and Shadow leans on the side of tarot readings.) He wishes to borrow the power of the Shoredeep Presage below and combine it with his own magics to find the Tidelord's location, and maybe, if the stars align, he can find some time to have cocoa with Chance, too.
