Aneir embraced each of his three children as they stood ready to depart, wiping away a tear as he made the sign of Mother's Blessing over each of them, Necromancer and Necroservi alike.

"Goodbye, my children," he told them softly. "Each of you has been given a holy purpose. You are marked in a way that no other dragon on Sornieth can claim. I know that you will serve wisely, with integrity and honor. You will make Mother proud, as you have made your father proud. Spread Her love and Her blessings wherever she may lead you."

He watched them until they had disappeared into the glare off the horizon, heart full with happiness, pride, and bittersweet sadness in equal measure. He didn't think he would see any of them again, but he would remember them, and would visit them in his prayers, taking solace in the fact that they would always be true to themselves, to each other, and to Plaguebringer.
