Biography
Sunshine is technically part of the gardening staff, due to his Sundrowned magic he works as a grow lamp for plants that are placed in darker areas, but he's most often seen at the library. He loves plants for sure, but his true passion lies in reading and writting. Due to his enormous size, he's often mistaken as the head archivist, when this couldn't be furthest from the truth, which makes him happy, he wished he was the archivist. Not that he doesn't love his role. The gardens are part of the library after all, and he gets to do both the things he love at the same time.
He brings the library books with him while he basks the plants in his glow. It's a mundane task that barely needs any of his attention, so he can read with ease and even write down some notes. He participates in the weekly writing workshop the library provides for free, and he likes sharing his observations with the others.
The Sun-drowned
The Sun-Drowned and their respective variants are the result of countless generations of dragons inheriting a part of the Lightweaver’s original magic, born of the first imperials. This trait usually lies dormant in a dragons blood— but in certain lineages it will appear boldly, almost always appearing in the form of crystalline golden horns. A few dragons are exempt from this trait, sometimes due to their ichor not setting properly, and sometimes due to simply not having horns. Their magic is still there nonetheless, manifesting here and there in smaller physical traits; The ichor in their veins, small golden scales dusting their hides, shimmering golden wings, glowing claws, proficiency in magic, and the occasional... abnormality within the body are telltale signs. While the lineages of these dragons stretch back to the very beginning of the Light Flight itself, the dragons themselves have remained hidden and secretive of their history until late. With Luminax’s presence in the Sunbeam Ruins, many Sundrowned have taken to traveling far and wide in hopes of outdistancing the horror they inevitably share a kinship with. The name, in itself, serves as a reminder- they drown in the sun’s blinding light and become something else entirely, one way or another. Sundrowned and their kin tend to share traits between one another, most having an affinity for magic and a inherent love for sunny areas. Some dragons tend to make jokes of how they resemble serpents when they take to lounging in the sunlight, boasting about their scales. These dragons usually excel in scholarly or magical pursuits, some using their traits to become renowned mages and archivists. Of course, most certainly does not mean all, and many sundrowned dragons live casual lives, hardly even batting an eye at their lineage. Some become nomads, traders, shop keeps, so on and so forth... |

Standard Sun-drowned Seen as the ‘commons’ of the castes, Standard Sundrowned are the most widely seen of the subspecies. Due to how large they are in numbers, they tend to have the most abnormalities— it’s not unusual to see one of these dragons walking around with two pairs of golden horns or glowing claws. |
Nature Sun-drowned
Nature dragons are the oddest of the flights within the Sundrowned, to the point these dragons are seen as recluse and elusive. They tend to enjoy spending their time deep within forests and lush greenery, bringing light to the planets that may not see it. Those with high magic can accidentally sprout blooms on their manes. |
