They say playing with dark magic is dangerous, but Keyla has always been a friend to the shadows. Her parents never loved her. They were afraid of the little dragon who would laugh at death. She was always an outcast growing up, with no one but the spirits that haunt the desolate outskirts. She was taken on as an apprentice by the local witch named Taiga. Taiga told her time and time again that the shadows were dangerous. That once they got what they wanted they would turn on her. Keyla didn't listen. After all the shadows where her only friends. As Keyla learned more about magic she started attempting to summon the apparitions, so she could actually talk to them. She spent her evenings researching, getting little to no sleep.
Finally after months she managed to find a ritual that would work with the small amount of resources she had. Little did she know this ritual would almost cost Keyla her life. |
