--Description--

Beloved mate of Xena and adoptive father to Stardust, Astor prides himself in his speed (this pride sometimes verging upon vanity), despite being a water dragon. He is perhaps one of the swiftest among the clanmates of Flowerfern, and puts this skill to good use- acting as a messenger between clans, as well as a scout when patrolling.

He does his best to be a charming fellow - polite, humorous, and gentlemanly, but knowing when to be serious. But the truth is: when he isn't on-the-job, he's somewhat of a clutz - this thankfully not extending to when he's delivering packages and letters, and his jokes and puns are groan-inducing half the time.

Sometimes people wonder why he won Xena's heart, but perhaps it's because they balance eachother out to a degree, Astor trying to encourage Xena to talk and have fun more, whereas Xena helps keep him aware of his surroundings so he doesn't knock yet another object over.

When Xena is out traveling, Astor will most often stay behind and keep an eye on the clan for her. It's rare that he may join Xena on travels - cause as much as he loves her, he knows he has a responsibility for the clan as well as one of the main messengers. Instead, he may sometimes visit her - be it because he has a letter for her specifically, or because he simply wishes to check on her.

Some dragons wonder how he is able to find her so easily, however. This is through a bracelet that they both wear - blessed by both his own and Reef's water magic, so that one may divine where the other bracelet is. As long as they both wear it, they know where each other is, and can seek each other out with ease.

Xena aside, he has an adoptive son named Stardust, whom he regards as his pride and joy, even if he wasn't the one who fathered the fellow Skydancer. He and Xena had taken Stardust in as soon as he hatched - Astor wishing to teach Stardust the ways of being a Skydancer - namely their empathetic abilities, and their graceful flying. He feels pride in seeing Stardust nearly rival Astor in speed, despite his own prideful tendencies regarding his own.

Additionally, he has a familiar, a Storm Seeker named Tempest. Tempest is somewhat of a cheeky bird, but her affinity to storms allows her to detect them long before they occur or reach Astor, which means he can avoid the area, or seek shelter, in the middle of a long flight.
