Like Father, Like Son.

Hyena did not inherit any magic prowess but he had his father’s fascination or obsession to magic. He was surprisingly a lot like his father...the illusion magic-obsession, the murderous power, even the hyena-like laugh which he was named after by someone unusual who took a liking to the young reaper.

Baskerville, the Skinwalker, enjoyed Hyena’s company. Baskerville named him Hyena after his laughing nature when he killed his enemies. As a fellow trickster, Baskerville couldn’t help but spare the young reaper’s life when Hyena ventured too fair into his woods without realizing, too engrossed in reaping more enemies.

No one wants to get in Hyena’s way in battle. Even more so if Baskerville joins. Thanks to Baskerville’s guidance with illusions, he taught Hyena to use the illusionary magic in ways of stealth and luring his enemies in a false sense of security before unleashing his raw power to strike them down. Hyena has even been mistaken for a Skinwalker himself. A feat that he’s very proud of, even Baskerville can’t help but be impressed.
