~The Violinist~
Backstory
Ikliss came home from her travels one night bearing the egg that held Cassin. When questioned about its origin, Ikliss would say only that she had found it abandoned. She stayed long enough for the egg to hatch, named the hatchling Cassin, and then left again on her endless travels. Cassin grew up under the care of Hyra and Kaz, alongside fellow orphan Aspen. As a hatchling, she was quite inquisitive, always questioning the ways of the world and the reasons why dragons did things. She was very close to Ikliss, despite Ikliss's chronic absences, and often pleaded for permission to join in on her journeys. Ikliss always declined on account of the danger present on her travels. Nevertheless, Cassin enjoyed the tales Ikliss always returned with. One day, Ikliss brought Cassin three presents from her travels: a scarf, a gold necklace, and a well-worn violin. Cassin happily accepted the accessories, and eventually learned to play the violin with a fair amount of skill. She often joins Calliope in her musical performances. Cassin still longs to join Ikliss on her journeys, but Ikliss has yet to cave in.
Personality
Cassin is a cheerful young dragon, and she shares Ikliss's altruistic tendencies. She isn't the least bit shy about performing in front of many dragons, and she is quite skilled with her instrument. Like most wind dragons, she has a touch of wanderlust, and she enjoys trying new things. Her violin is her most treasured possession, and its origin is as mysterious as her own. The handle is engraved with a note: "For Viridia, with love", and Cassin has often wondered after the story behind it. It is unknown if Ikliss knows anything about it; if she does know something, she's keeping it quiet.
