Eaten by the gaping maw of some creature, or brainwashed by some monster... You know, the like. Or maybe you don't, actually. I'm taking over the work of Professor [REDACTED], and our field isn't exactly well-known. Ugh, no, that sounds terrible. Let's try this again.

ENTRY #1.1 - TARIEL - Greetings! I am Tariel, and I am taking over the work of Professor [REDACTED]. We I am a scholar of sorts, studying the strange and unusual phenomenon across the land. I wish I could say more of my background, but this life under the professor seems to be all I can remember. Perhaps this was a new start for me. Hmm... no, this seems like a totally different tangent.

ENTRY #1.2 - TARIEL - Greetings! I am Tariel, and I am taking over the work of Professor [REDACTED]. I am a scholar of sorts, studying the strange and unusual phenomenon across the land. Though this work can be precarious, I hope my studies can prove fruitful into proving the existence of these anomalies and protecting others from them. I will compile my findings in this journal for future reference. This is, quite literally, my life's work, so be careful with it. And be careful out there, too, my new friend.
