Biography
Dragons born into plenty are often the least ambitious, having no need to claw their way up for a good and comfortable life. Even for those who hatch from lonesome and resilient eggs, being born into a bright green forest with not a predator in sight makes life so easy, happiness so easy...
But no, Calliope was never the type to settle. Being born and growing up in the Blooming Grove, Calliope never had much trouble in her long life. She was barely even recognized as a dragon by the beastclan folks around, and travelling dragons would find her to be able to be a helpful guide through the sunlit birch trees in exchange for chatting about the rest of the world!
Despite always being fed and safe, Calliope still had one longing... One ambition, separate from the goodness she already had. Travelers would come and go, leaving her alone as a sole dragon among a vast area. She wanted company, companionship, someone to live alongside and share the peaceful world with. She stepped out of the grove only once in her life, deciding to set off and try to find another veilspun to be her mate.
She only made it a couple days out of the trees before a not-so friendly beastclan attacked her on sight due to being a dragon. She was forced into the nearest hole in the ground, with the creature snapping at her tail as she flew for her life, already wounded. In the crash, she fell unconsious- only to wake up in the care and comfort of another veilspun and his mate! Rhovial and Ninguang, as they introduced themselves, were incredibly surprised to see another of their kind, and while she healed she explained her goal to them: the dream to start a colony of company, living in harmony with the kind wilds she grew up in. They listened, and they agreed; what if such a thing could become real? They followed her home after she'd healed and rested enough to fly.
Since then, through small missions in and out of the Vanguard, Calliope has gathered many veilspuns to come live within the burrows she dug out for them all. With this colony, she'd found the company and charges that have made her life feel complete.
