With his father not in the picture after being lost at sea, Nebulo's mother was determined to give her son the life she wanted him to have. Though, many of her own desires got muddled with what she thought was best, and this only lead to tension between them. The first thing on her list was to have him be mated to someone of stature, to ensure a future of comfort.
Needless to say, none of the relationships worked, and Nebulo would call it all off before anything could even happen.

Eventually, his mother was approached by a well known scholar of the Observatory, who's daughter was having the same issues. The night before the two young dragons would meet, his mother gave him an ultimatum: Either he chooses her by his own free will, or they would be put together with no say.
