Zoxia was an abysmal illithid. As an abysmal they study the fears of the 'lesser races' to weaponize those and spread the fear towards their own species, this also means they get a free pass to be an overly abusive thrall owner and a bully towards other illithids that aren't at their own level. Zoxia is also one of the few non-nourishers who carry out performance eating demonstrations at their underdark colony, they're quite popuar and hold quite the influence thanks to that alone. They're starting to get bored of the colony life and may volunteer to be sent in some raiding mission or something soon, who knows what will happen then.
Zoxia has a mozgriken servant which they bully the most, called Cru, and a small intellect devourer, called Esk, of quite long, spider like legs. Both of their pets are great at stealth. Zoxia also has a personal duergar thrall, called Jatmaic, and sometimes temporal thralls(which end as food or used on abysmal studies about fear and how to weaponize it). The illithid abysmal never leaves the colony without their to pets and personal thall.
As an abysmal they like to collect skulls, like many other abysmals, but! they also like to collect eyes, which they keep in jars of mystery fluid so those won't rot off and dry. Sometimes Zoxia uses those eyes on techno organic machinery, such as their abysmal experiments to create creatures and constructs that have organic bits to augment the spooky factor of those. When raiding for brains outside their colony, Zoxia always carries a smaller container for eyes if they encounter anyone with interesting enough eyes.
They had a lot of enemies at their home colony, had to leave it after a while when things got bad. Bad as in getting kidnapped by another member of the council and kept in a psionically sealed torture room for two months, though rescued and the other one executed, Zoxia could not stay. They developed an obsession to inflict the same pain they felt into any non illithid they laid hands on and an hyper paranoia towards not wearing enough clothes to cover the scars of the aftermath. Zoxia's body had once been beautiful, with tattooed lines like the ones on their face going over in patterns, some were poetic qualith writings with deep meanings. After what they went through, Zoxia was more ugly scars than pretty patterns. The sick one that tortured them had never targeted their face.
