personality Bertholdt is a rather quiet dragon. He doesn't have much to say, so he keeps quiet. He thinks a lot, but tends to keep that to himself. In everything he does, he is calm and collected. He never lets anything get under his skin. He gets easily attached to dragons and often has a hard time letting them go, so he can seem a bit cold at times. He is extremely loyal to his friends though and despite his calm nature, his biggest fear is death. Bertholdt is shade possessed. He has the ability to grow in size. He can grow to sixty meters tall, but he can't go any smaller than that. So, Bertholdt is either normal sized or the biggest dragon around. backstory Bertholdt grew up in a land of pure dragons. Mostly. There was a small subsect of possessed dragons, who the pure ones referred to as 'devils.' Their abilities were small enough to be managed and policed by pure dragons. There were, however, nine shade dragons who were given special abilities. Dragons given these abilities were called warriors. Shade possessed dragons were the only ones who could get the special warrior abilities, but they could only get them after rigorous training. From childhood, Bertholdt trained to be a warrior and he was selected. He was given the power of the colossal titan. It was an incredible honor. Being a warrior meant Bertholdt had to go off and hunt other shade dragons. At first, it was easy; Bertholdt could rationalize that they were bad dragons and they weren't trained or policed like he was. However, as time went on, it got worse. Bertholdt realized the dragons were just like him. They had families and desires and wanted to live, just like him, but Bertholdt had a duty. He started to rationalize his slaughter by saying it wasn't their fault. It really wasn't. Eventually, it became too much. Bertholdt was hurt by other shade dragons and nearly died. He managed to get away and promised to never hurt another dragon again. job Bertholdt is a massive titan. As he was once a hunter of shade dragons, Bertholdt does everything in his power to protect others. It's not an official job, but he always tries to help others. He spends most of his time helping others wherever he can. He only uses his shade ability when absolutely necessary. He hates it, because it reminds him of death. He vows to never take another life again, no matter what. |
