Lyre

Lyre is an imposing dragon, and a burgeoning student of necromancy. She's always been fascinated with the study of life and death, and on the possibilities that come with circumventing their rules. When she was a young dragon she performed her first act of Arcane necromancy, and watched with a thrill as the body of a stag struggled to life at the edge of her clan's forest territory.

Since then she has delved deeper into her work, leaving her clan--to the great relief of its more supersticious inhabitants--to meet the monsters of the world, learn how they ticked, and create her own.

Her faithful hound is her most successful experiment yet--though it carries none of the memories of its old life, the reanimated bones have a sentience all their own, and the hound is a great help in sniffing out more remnants for Lyre to work with.

Her ultimate goal is to preserve the personality of a dead creature when she resurrects it, creating true immortality. Of course, the best subject to work with would be another dragon, but Lyre recognizes that even the Greenhouse would likely kick her out if she followed through with that experiment. Still, she wonders . . .
