That's not even the worst I've seen!

Vaara is bitterly jealous of the sandsurge, and is petitioning to the clan, and his contacts back in Lightning, to become one. Sadly, his role requires a smaller dragon, and ideally one that is flighted; a tundra he must remain.

Vaara is a technician from Lightning specializing in cleaning up Arcane waste sites. As toxic and dangerous as random Arcane can be especially in the Shifting Expanse, dedicated nature dragons are found—raised from orphans or headhunted as adults—and trained to clean it up before contamination can spread. Following the falling star incident, he has been stationed semi-permanently with Cindercone Clan to make certain no Arcane incursions come over the western border. Though his eyes are Nature-green, his heart is dedicated to Lightning virtues.

Efficient and hardworking, Vaara has largely allayed the clan's suspicions by being up-front and matter-of-fact. He nevertheless remains trusted only by Harvest and Ithiliisahn.

Craft
Vaara makes a number of charms and vessels to help defend against, cleanse, and redirect random Arcane energy. He is eagerly experimenting with several new forms of crafting during his stay with Cindercone Clan, however, and seems liable to pick up several more trades in the process.

Physical description
Extensively modified to deal with Arcane disasters, Vaara is covered in hard polymer plating reinforced with a honeycomb structure, and various wires and sensors bristle from beneath this jagged "fur". He moves quickly and efficiently overland or on the wing, but avoids water deeper than his wrists.

Combat
Fast and durable, Vaara packs a mean punch of acid-tipped claws and hard wing-edges. He has been trained extensively in martial techniques, especially against Arcane creatures and rogue golems.

Origin
Vaara hails from the same orphanage facility that raised Flux, though the two were not close. It is thought that she called him for aid during the falling-star crisis, though as yet no one has been able to confirm this.

Kin
Vaara is an orphan, raised by Lightning's workers in exchange for labor. When asked, however, he reveals he was hatched a nocturne—during the course of his training, he was diverted onto a track better suited to smaller breeds, and subsequently downsized. He professes not to miss his old form much, though he has a certain wistfulness in dark nights or Shadow dominance.

Familiar

Vaara tamed this runaway ovid, or at least has begun to do so. A creature of the Light/Lightning border, conflict seems etched in her very bones, and head-butting disputes are not uncommon.
