CLAN LEADER
bio, written by forgranite
Heral was hatched and raised in a large and successful clan of the Snowsquall Tundra. it was in the Icewarden's territory that she learned and trained, but she regularly traveled across the straits into the territory of Wind to help gather insects or to scout for needed materials. But one day during her travels Heral noticed something odd below her as she was flying across the Zephyr Steppes. As she swooped down to get a closer look her attention was drawn to a young couple, a Guardian and a Fae, who looked like they had just recently stuck off on their own. Nothing special, dragons started new clans all the time. Heral wasn't sure why it had caught her attention at all except...
The way that Guardian was digging was all wrong. And the Fae... was he trying to crack open a raw pillbug? It was clear that those poor children had no idea what they were doing. Heral would be remiss to just let them continue on in their ignorance.
"You know you have to heat that first, right?" Heral asked, by way of greeting "You can't just crack it open."
The dragons had not seemed to notice her approach and were startled by her presence. Heral sighed. Did they know nothing of securing their lair or of basic defense? Then it occurred to her. Maybe they really didn't. Urn and Amiria, as they had introduced themselves, seemed to be struggling in every sense of the word, and in a much more forgiving environment than the Icefield. In her own clan, Heral was one of many capable dragons contributing to the success of the group. But here she was truly needed.
What had started out as a day long expedition away from the Southern Icefield turned in to one week, and then two as she helped the Amiria and Urn establish their clan. Heral sent a letter to her old clan once she realized that she had found a new home. There was just so much to do with these two (and soon three, four, five) - she had to help them, they just had so much to learn. And so Heral has remained with her new clan ever since, helping them grow and dispensing helpful advice whether it is needed or not. Not that Heral would ever acknowledge such a thing. Of course she knows best.
