Biography
Bellig
Mate of Terror
With and uncertain future Bellig awaited his Lord and Lady's decision. Shall he serve the Arcainist or far worse. In the shadowed hours of the night he was deposited into the upper chambers of a different clan... no a different flight. For he raised his head to meet several... dozen? Purple eyes. By the gods he had been traded to a shadow clan. His wings sagged only the slightest as he stood. Was this a doom far worse than serving the Gods for eternity?
A gentle female voice sounded from the shadows," By my Mother could they have been any more hurried to leave?" A few quiet chuckles fluttered from the room. "And what might your name be?"
Bellig straitened himself and gazed into the shadows, he'd face this challenge head on. "My name is Bellig. May I ask your name and why I am here?"
As if the den had come to life, blooms of light appeared on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. It was as bright as any other clear day. And there in front of him stood a slim yet strong obsidian and seafoam Mirror with deathly sharp blue spines running tip of nose to tip of tail. Bellig pulled a sharp breath. He knew then exactly who he stood before.
"My name is Valane but my clan, my children call me Mother, but you seemed to realize this." She turned her head slightly, "I have only had the chance to meet one other like you with such extraordinary colors and patterns. My Plague ambassador, Terror."
Terror what a truly fitting name for one that would willingly travel to the Rotting Lands. This mirror standing in front of him though was to be feared. She was both merciful and merciless, fair and foul, the one who allowed life and ended it.
"I have heard of you, whispers of stories. Tellings of your clan and the power it holds. Other powerful names join yours. Tagon, Starfall, Veon, Rushika, Basan, and so many others. I ask again, why am I here?"
Her expression softened," You would have met and unfortunate end had I not bought your safety. To be Exalted is not as pleasant as they make it out to be. I saw power in you and could not let you be given away to the Gods. Call me greedy if you will, but my clan is one of misfits and outcasts."
So he was bought, what did he now owe Valane? Was he now a prisoner here or was he free to leave?
Another feminie voice came from his left," You are not prisoner, you owe Mother nothing. She has saved many of us of uncertain fates. We have stayed by our own choice."
His head swung toward the voice," How-"
An elegant plum and lavender pearlcatcher sat on her haunches there. She was dressed is silks and ribbon. Lights.. no fireflies shimmered around her along with a deck of cards.
"I am Starfall. Sorceress and Priestess of the Great Mother herself, The Shadowbinder. I sensed your questions."
Valane chuckled,"Why don't we get you settled in Bellig."
