Biography
Suferi is an introvert. She's happiest studying, brewing tea or tending her plants. From a very young age she has had a prominent awareness of supernatural entities and enjoys communing with benign spirits. An extremely gifted mage, she's got a very "wise hermit wizard who dispenses knowledge" vibe. While she could absolutely move a mountain or punch through the fabric of reality, that would be far too disruptive to the balance of the world. She loathes large groups but enjoys teaching one on one and lives to see those around her grow into their abilities.
Suferi's clan was one of magic users, but nothing could have prepared them for Suferi and her power. She blindsided everyone, causing several mishaps before an elderly member of her clan took her in hand and helped her build protective barriers around her magic. As she grew up, she found herself wanting to wander and be alone more and more. An amicable departure from her birth clan left her wandering. As she roamed the land, she began reaching into the barrier around her magic and slowly drawing it out, bit by bit.
At first she reveled in grandiose displays of her abilities, calling up trees and rearranging the rocks and landscape to suit her. One feat she was particularly proud of was shrinking a large and ancient tree that blocked her path to the size of a shoulder-high shrub. Her energy too sapped to continue up the path, she curled up and drifted off to sleep. She was awoken hours later by the morose hooting lamentation of a large owl that waddled around the tree, confounded by its inability to enter its nest. Wracked with guilt, Suferi learned her lesson.
When she stumbled upon a wall of wild, ferocious magic, she was at first afraid. But when she became aware of a presence locked within, being consumed by the magic that streamed from it, she dove in. Nursing Kalaph back to health and teaching him his magic infused Suferi with a sense of purpose that has carried and bolstered her. In addition to helping fledgling mages, Suferi also extends a quiet invitation to any benevolent spirits or creatures that might be bereft of a place to belong.
