Biography

Pestilence, always curious as to how diseases work and what affects infection rate or changes in symptoms, founded the Gryphon Research Facility to give a base of operations for a group of dragons interested in this kind of study. Pestilence herself focuses her study on disease vectors.

Pestilence is a polyamorous pansexual and has two mates, Pathogen and Disease.

Since I have these old RP things written up I may as well add them here, even if they aren't completely canon to how I see her now there's still stuff in here that applies to her:

"Pestilence is a Plague dragoness that grew up surrounded by the wonderful humours of the Scarred Wasteland. She was loath to leave the familiar pools of blood and bile, phlegm and pus, but something drove her on. She had to know more, more about life beyond her native lands, what diseases do they deal with? What vectors cause the most problems? How do they treat them? And most importantly, was there a way that she could use that knowledge to turn the tides in this conflict? Could biological warfare be the answer? The Plaguebringer was preparing her Plaguelings for survival, and Pestilence would not just survive, she would thrive.

At the outset Pestilence's personality is quite grim and morbid, she has a particular liking for gallows humour, and has a tendency to coo over infected wounds and other potential vectors of disease. Her bedside manner is terrible and she can be painfully blunt when it comes to assessing situations.

She is quite a young and optimistic dragoness, she believes that if she can only learn the weaknesses of these new Shade-cursed creatures then she can help drive them away. Of course optimism for a Plague dragon may not be a good thing for every dragon.

As a Mirror, Pestilence does feel a need to find travelling companions, though she is not necessarily fussed if they are Mirrors or not, a pack is a pack regardless of who is in it. That being said, it takes a long time for her to become loyal to a companion, and she will frequently break away from a group to find another whenever she feels like it. Her relationships with companions can often be summed up with a single word Tsundere, she's travelling with you because you are potential vectors for disease and thus a research opportunity, not because she wants your friendship.

Pestilence has some medical training though to most non-Plague dragons it seems unskilled, she will not treat an infection nor will she cure an illness, instead it is supportive care that she provides. A dragon must survive a contagion on their own, because to survive makes you stronger, and Pestilence has had that drilled into her head since she was a hatchling."

"Pestilence, for years, dedicated her life to researching how pathogens worked, their symptoms, their infection rates, their adaptations. Everything suffers from something, a disease, a parasite, a syndrome, it’s how the world works. There is always a way to bring a creature to its limits, to the brink of death. Emperors, those cursed undead, they must have a weakness, everything else in the world does. She will find that flaw, that crack in the armor. And like every good Plague dragon before her, she will exploit that weakness and destroy her enemy with blight and contagion."

Exalting Pestilence to the service of the Plaguebringer will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
