A crack appears in the darkness, a rip in reality that widens slowly, chasing the darkness with an orange glow. Tendrils of flame-colored smoke pour forth from the widening maw, touching the other slumbering silhouettes, who respond by animating and filling the cavern with echoing screams and sizzling. The fog of acid chases the dragons from the cave, leaving the first to close his mouth and sleep alone.
