▬▬▬▬▬▬▬xxbiography. Hessonite was originally born in the Scarred Wastelands to a poor mother who sought asylum in the Earthen kingdom. When the Earthshaker's domain was attacked, Hessonite and his mother fled again, this time to the Gladekeeper's continent where the land was plentiful but untamed. They didn't stop until they made it to the swampy wetlands where they built a home from scratch. Hessonite's mother dislike the idea of living in a city center or hub, fearing they would suffer another attack like they did in the Earthshaker's continent, so they stayed hidden, learning to live off the land. Under his mother's tutelage, Hessonite learned how to make the most of rough living: learning which plants were safe to eat and which were better used for medicine, how to hunt for animals and not waste a single part, and most importantly, how to take care of herself. The wetlands were home to few, but at the border where the forest turned to bog, there was an older dragon who served as their only neighbor. Hessonite knew little about her, only that her name was Sakari and she visited only to trade her mushrooms for the medicinal herbs her mother grew. Beyond that mysterious neighbor, it was only Hessonite, her frog friends, and her mother. Eventually, Hessonite's mother fell ill, her frail body finally giving in after decades of stress. At her request, Hessonite led her to the swampland far from their home and helped her float in the bog water. When she passed, silently and painlessly, Hessonite let her sink into the safe cradle of the wet earth and returned home. For most of her life, the bog had been Hessonite's sanctuary but without her mother, she couldn't bear to continue living alone in the wildlands. So with one final goodbye to both her home and her mother, Hessonite packed up and returned to the Earth continent. In her absence, the continent of the World's Pillar had healed in some way -- the destruction was still there in some places, but in other life had taken root again. Hessonite joined Terraclae, the new and rapidly developing hub center. Hessonite acts as clan mother to the local community and you'll often find her in the community kitchens, trying out new recipes to make use of the limited resources. It's certainly different from the quiet solitude of the bog, but Hessonite loves her new life, even if it is challenging. ✦ trivia ✦ - Hessonite's gender is fluid. She was a boy up until the passing of her mother, then she eased into a more feminine being. - Hessonite has three frog companions that she brought with her from the bog. They serve as a reminder of her old home. They like to hide in pots and pans while Hessonite is busy cooking, but they're not food! - There's a burgeoning romance blooming between Hessonite and one of the clan leaders, Kakaal. Unfortunately, their busy schedules leave little time for leisure and romance, so they are currently at a standstill. - Hessonite makes yearly trips to the bog around the anniversary of her mother's passing. During each visit, she makes sure to check on the deteriorating shack that served as her hatchlinghood home and offers a prayer to the Gladekeeper, thanking the deity for watching over her mother. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬xxrelations.
