"Common golem constructed from refractory metal to work near the forge, this machine only received a tiny bit of magic, enough to make it move and perform basic tasks – if the golem’s system was well-made, it could also store the data and reflect on the current problems applying objective facts. Such kind of programming was a high-tech one, and even without it working, HARU-1 was supposed to be already good enough, freeing metallurgists from manual labor and helping blacksmiths with their chores.

However, during the process of final conjuration something sparked and bursted in this metal body with a loud echo. Some gears clicked and whirred. A few subroutines initiated and it briefly had a flicker of emotion, but those were quickly suppressed by its newest augmentation. HARU-1 blinked once, twice, spread her wings and flew out of the workshop, knocking over a toolbox with a resounding crash. No one knows if she managed to gain the ability to store the data after all, but what she unmistakably gained, was consciousness of her own. And, much to the trouble of her constructors, she refused to stay inside."
