Biography

Vaille is the second daughter of her parents, the most eager of her siblings to leave on her quest to see the world. As much as she longs to travel, she regrets knowing that they may take her far from her home in the Veridian Labyrinth and birthplace of her mother, but hopes she may one day see her own birthplace, and that of her father in the Dragonhome.

Cold air drifted through the majestic dragon’s wings as she soared over the icy-cold, snow-covered treetops. There’s gotta be a village somewhere here? Right?! Vaille has been traveling for hours over the snow, not a single dragon in sight. The temperature has been dropping as the sun was setting- and her wings are beginning to cramp up. Sighing to herself, she dipped down from the sky into the trees. Night is coming, and there’s nobody around for ages. She’s going to have to start a fire.
“Wood... I need dry wood-“ She muttered to herself. “It’s all covered in snow! How do dragons survive here?”
After a ton of struggle, Vaille finally cleared an area of snow.
“There. Now I need to-“ She was cut off when a pile of snow from a tree fell down onto her freshly cleaned area. “oh my earthshaker- I’m gOING TO SCREAM-“ Her eyes widened as she realized what she just did. The moon has already risen- She’s freezing- and-
A howl broke the silence. Followed by the sound of pawsteps

“Shoot- no, no, no-“ She tried to open up her wings to fly away, but they were too cramped from flying such a long way before. “Nononono- nice doggies, I don’t have much meat on my bones- Don’t eat me-“
Looking over to the side, Vaille finally spotted a set of glowing eyes. Then another- and another- one by one, she looked around. She was surrounded.
“HELP!” She cried out “Some dragon, please help me!”

A wolf finally stepped forwards towards the shivering, scared dragon. He took a couple more steps forwards, then he nudged her with his nose.
“w-What? You aren’t going to- hunt me?”
The wolf shook his head. Whining, he began to walk away from her. The other wolves followed behind him. Vaille stumbled in the snow, but she tried to follow. The wolves were moving too quickly, she can’t keep up! “W-Wait, I can’t-“ Her foot caught a fallen tree branch that was buried in the snow and she collapsed. “Help-“
The lead wolf noticed that the dragon wasn’t behind him anymore and he turned around. Eyes darting around, he finally spotted the fallen dragon. Barking out orders to his pack, the wolves surrounded her and they piled on top of her to keep her warm. The lead wolf took off into the night, towards a light in the distance. A town.

Blaidd was just enjoying some time in her den with her children when her familiar came bursting through the entrance. He looked panicked and nervous and he was whining.
“Ah.. Hold on, babies, I think Ryder is trying to tell me something. What is it? What’s happened? There’s going to be a snow-storm tonight, I’m not guarding.”
Ryder grabbed Blaidd by the jacket and began to drag her out to door
“Okay, okay, I’m coming! Did you and your pack see something?” Blaidd put on her warmest jacket and began to follow him. Ryder is a fast runner, but she can keep up just fine. The clouds began to gather, covering the moon. Blaidd can see in the dark, which is a good thing; because now it was pitch black out. The flakes began to fall slowly and softly, but it escalated very quickly into a full-blown blizzard.
“WHERE ARE WE GOING?” Blaidd yelled out to her fuzzy familiar. She doesn’t want to be out in the snow right now, but if anything’s wrong- she’s the strongest one. She’s the only one who could do something about it.
Ryder responded with a loud bark. Then a howl.
More howls came from in front of them, and Blaidd pushed herself further. His pack is close, that means something must have happened- maybe one of the wolves are hurt! Finally, she could see the pile of wolves. Wait- that’s not right. Is that-

“Move.” Blaidd barked to the wolves. They scattered. She yanked her coat off and wrapped it around the popsicle of a dragon. “We’ve got to hurry. They’re freezing to death- this snow is not good for Pearlcatchers!”
Holding the poor girl close to her chest, Blaidd took off into the sky. The snow stung because she was flying so fast through it, but it’s life or death for this ... stupid dragon. High-tailing it into her den, she slid past the table where her children were enjoying dinner.
“Shir, Ryfelwr, get the fire roaring. Tywysoges, I need you to go get Billows. I have a Pearlcatcher who’s been hurt in the storm, this is urgent.”
Understanding the significance of the event, all three dragons leapt to attention. Tywy put on her heaviest coat and hurried out into the snow. The two younger siblings brought the fire to the hottest they’ve ever made it before, and Blaidd laid the frail Vaille down next to it with the coat on top of her wings. A few moments later, Billows and Tywy hurried into the living room.
“Where are they? Blaidd, scootch. I’ll deal with this now. She’s got serious frostbite. We need to take care of that. The fire is good. Alright. Everybody out of the room. Go play in the snow or- actually no, don’t do that. Go back to your dinner. I’ve got this...”

Vaille groaned and shifted her body. H-Her pearl, where- oh thank god, here it is. Her eyes fluttered open gently. This isn’t the woods- Where is she? It smells like plants in here. Vaille lurched up into a sitting position and she looked around. There’s a fire right there, and plants hanging from the roof- that explains the plant smell. The noise of a door opening caused her to look over. A big white fluffy dragon with red and black accents stepped into the room.
“You’re awake!” The dragon said, looking quite pleased. “I’ve got some food here- something you would like!” The strange dragon placed a plate down on the table next to the couch she was sitting on. The pile of bugs on the plate made her mouth water. She finished it quickly, licking the plate clean. “Thank you- Ah- Where am I? What happened to the wolves?” She seemed concerned, seeing the wolf head on this dragon.
“They kept you warm until Blaidd could save you!” Her eyes seemed to follow what Vaille was looking at “Oh, this? This isn’t a real wolf pelt, we would never. Blaidd’s son made them so we could keep our faces warm.”
She visibly looked relieved. Those wolves saved her. “Who are you? And where am I?”
“I’m Billows, the clan’s medicine dragon. You’re in Turmtoil, our little village. But to be specific, you’re in my den right now. I brought you here from Blaidd’s den last night because I was worried about you. Now, my turn. What the heck where you thinking?! You don’t have fur, you can’t survive in the ice-lands! You’re very lucky it was Ryder’s pack who found you because had it been any of the other wolves, you wouldn’t be laying here today! Why didn’t you stop at any of the other clans?!”
Vaille’s ears flicked back against her head. She looked very guilty. “I couldn’t find any other clans, I thought if I just started a fire, I’d be able to rest for a night.”

(I swear I’m gonna finish this..... eventually...)
