i am pasting this here so i don’t forget about it later but i will refine this clan lore someday..
my canon is that Crispen was originally a plague dragon that was nearly burnt to total death in enchanted flames wrought by a cult of nature dragons to prevent a Wrymwoundborne disease from spreading out of him, but when he was on the brink of death, a parasitic spirit (later named "Bearss" because of its lime color) possessed him and kept him alive until he pulled himself from the pyre. now he is a fire-aligned dragon who joined Cyrus and Kalma, as their own parasitic spirits led them together to form the clan that now exists under crowdad. crispen’s exterior is still suffering as if the flame still dances upon his skin but eternally slowed by the will of his presence. that is why he smells like bacon!

4-16-2021 - cool coli story: crispen and kalma were training fodder (happens to be this one) in the kelp beds and happened upon a frickin wave sweeper, which absolutely obliterated kalma 3 turns into the fight, but crispen took it down and had almost half his health left over!
in celebration of his victory, crispen got to keep the Coral Dweller for himself, and cyrus allowed him to cook it. it was burnt horribly, but noodle had done good enough of a job with the seasoning that you wouldn't be able to tell. (note that crispen is normally banned from using fire inside the rotten garden due to the flammable nature of plague-infused plants and the incendiary nature of crispens.)
