S U M M A R Y
Having been orphaned at a very young age, Dareios has spent most of his life residing at Deity's Rest Monastery. He was taken into the care of the clan when his original birthclan was reduced to ash by raiders. He has no memories of the place, or his family. Some nights he lies awake, staring deep into his pearl, wondering where he was and who was with him when it was first formed. Does he have his mother's eyes, or does he resemble his father more? These thoughts have swirled around Dareios' head for as long as he can remember. Although Monastery records indicate his clan was destroyed completely, one question has lingered with the Pearlcatcher throughout the years - did anyone else survive? Wishing to answer this question, yet hesitant to leave behind the only refuge he's ever known, Dareios decided to remain at the Monastery to work as the clan record keeper, to whom all vistors must report to on arrival at the gates. Here, their name is documented, along with their birth clan, current clan of residence, their date of birth, and the purpose of their visit to the Monastery. In this way he serves Deity's Rest by maintaining and adding to the historical records of the Monastery, while at the same time holding out hope that a survivor of his birthclan will one day appear before him. He is a solemn dragon, who is quietly humble and reserved. Although he makes pleasant conversation, one cannot deny the somewhat forlorn nature there is to him. He always greets me with nothing but politeness at the gates. You know, it's funny, but I get the sense he is always quite relieved when I or any of the others return from our outings.
