ESMER


Esmer was never particularly close with her siblings, and what with one of them becoming somewhat of a music-industry legend without so much of a letter to home ever since her rise to fame, she hasn't been in the mood to reconnect. Esmer is instead a connoisseur of life's simple pleasures. She runs her own farm, a venture which takes much more than it gives. Every day she has to rise before the sun, lug water, check crops, harvest what is in need of harvesting, feed her animals, attend markets, and strike business deals - often all in one day. She can't remember a time before her back was a single, gnarled knot. But there are little joys to be found in her line of work, too - and isn't that all a dragon can ask for? She doesn't know what trivialities her famous sister throws her treasure away on, but certainly, it can't be more valuable than watching a hatching gnaw through your first caramel apple of the season, or the first sunlight of a long winter.
