Biography
A once disgraced alchemist, Lance had found his new calling in Darkwell as an engineer. His original home had been in a bustling colony with hundreds of travelers and merchants passing through every day. After being accused of poisoning one of the colony’s most beloved nobles, he found himself fleeing to the outer gates in the dead of night. Eventually, he ended up in Darkwell. It was a tiny clan that was isolated from the rest of the world. But that made it a perfect place for the little fae to hide in. The Empress would have undoubtedly sent out a patrol to search for him by then. Diaochan, one of the members of the council who ran Darkwell, accepted him into the clan hesitantly.
Lance was only planned to stay with them until the coast was clear. But even so, he felt restless as days passed without anything for him to do but sleep. After meeting with Nova, another dragon belonging to the council, he was tasked with creating a new wing for a clanmate by the name of Ariel. According to Nova, she had injured it while out in the nearby orchard. Fang, the clan’s healer, was completely puzzled as it seemed like some kind of enchantment, not any kind that was documented unfortunately, was preventing the wing from recovering. Because the bones between her shoulder and upper wing were shattered, she couldn’t fly at all.
After many laborious days of crafting and testing, Lance unveiled his creation. It was a metal covering that went over her shoulder and wing. He had enchanted it with Quail’s help. The enchantment caused the armor to bind to her shoulder and wing and use it exactly like her original wing without having to amputate it and replace it with a fake wing. The enchantment overlapped the one that prevented her bones from healing and allowed her to fly again.
Ariel was ecstatic which caused Lance to start doubting his plan of leaving. His project had gone so well in fact, that he even doubted continuing his path of potion making.
Currently, Lance’s main project is creating a living, breathing dragon out of whatever materials he could get his claws on. He calls it “Wattson”. As of now, its able to speak (only in short sentences) and walk. His clanmates aren’t sure whether to be amazed or afraid of the dragon but he promises that if he really is able to create a living dragon with metal, wires, and a little magic, it will bring a lifetime of treasure to Darkwell.
