So you're back to visit my Ram Shrine, I see. You probably why I have so many kinds of Rams. Well, I can't just put in "1500" or "3500", so now I'm going through and doing packages!
While the modern-day Power Wagon is an amped-up Hemi powered Ram 2500, the original Power Wagon was a bit different; most had an actual "panel wagon" body style. In Chrysler tradition, Dodge applied the name “Power Wagon” to an unrelated set of four wheel drive trucks from 1957 onwards. These were based on standard pickups, with V8 engine options; the last of this group was made in 1980. They were then brought back again in 2005, only to be killed off once again 8 years later in 2013. Once again, it was brought back to stay in 2018.
The reason why the modern-day Ram Power Wagon is limited on payload and towing is because of its suspension setup. It's a truck that is focused on off-roading with great wheel articulation, clearance, and maximum traction. It's essentially an HD version of the Rebel these days.
