Biri looked at her eggs with pride. Such a beautiful group, she assured herself as she waited for them to start hatching. Buried, deep below the four eggs, was a fifth one. But wait, Biri had only had four...where did it come from? She sniffed the shell and smelled her own scent as well as her partner, Enzo's. Nothing was amiss, yet there was an extra egg!

Soon she lost her worry amidst the excitement of hatching babies. Three beautiful boys, and one precious girl! She knew the twins would always be together, and her beautiful boys would make their way through the world with ease. She couldn't get over how hers were such beautiful babies!

A leaden head poked through the discarded shells and a strangely-patterned girl struggled to shake off the shards. Biri recoiled as she remembered that fifth, that mysterious, egg in the nest. But a soft whine brought her to the baby's side and she gently pulled eggshell from the delicate wings. "Where did you come from, youngling?" she murmured to the newly-hatched babe.



Chaos looked on with interest. "Where indeed, little girl?"

As Enchanter grew, she spent much of her time in the glen of Faded Genes. While there, she learned etiquette, compassion, and the sciences. Soon, other clans were asking for Enchanter to speak for them when a competent ambassador was needed. Her ability to find the right words to diffuse a touchy situation was uncanny. Her ability to soothe angry feelings was glorious. Her ability to apply reason and logic brought the respect of many clans. She now leads the nameless clan, as their former ambassador has run from a tenacious curse.
