--- The Ethereal Shrine ---
Story by: CrimsonSasaki

There was serenity in the soft sound of chimes that were heard as two travelers—young females recently grown from hatchlings, a Spiral and Pearlcatcher—were starting their long voyage to a new home, far from the windy plains ... but they seemed to have taken a very wrong turn along the way. Lost in the endless bamboo forests, the two had a moment of present worry because it felt like it was there was no way out.

Panic was starting to sink into the younglings, for they had no idea where they were!

It took a while before they finally managed to find a place to rest, but the small area they found was strange to them; it was covered in wind chimes that sung a small melody as they approached the beautiful structure: soft brown wood stairs lead to the entrance of the large structure, which held white colored walls, and a curved green roof. It was beautiful ... with the chimes, and the bamboo around the field, it was like a dream.

"Is ... is this a shrine?" softly questioned the Spiral.

The Pearlcatcher then look towards her and replied, "I think so, unsure though, I never really paid attention to the lessons..." Her attention moved back to the shrine. In the short moment she had looked away, where there was once an empty spot now sat another dragon, a Coatl who looked at them calmly.

"Do you two need something to visit me all the way here?" Her voice was as gentle as the wind chimes themselves—unexpected for the cacophonous species—as she approached ever so carefully. The two looked at her, feeling some relief that they had finally found someone to give them a way out of the bamboo forest.

"Well, we didn't mean to bother you—or visit you—as this was an accident, but we're trying to get out of this bamboo forest, we're just recent travelers," spoke the younger Spiral, who looked rather embarrassed to admit, as the Coatl approached.

"That's an easy request," her soft voice said; the two didn't realize how calming this place was to their once growing anxieties. The Coatl who was talking to them added to the effect. She smiled to them, it is one of softness that most wouldn't ever see. "Follow me, little ones."

So they followed, going in a direction the two had never seen before, even with their endless searching earlier; once they were at a clearing, they went ahead of her. The chime of bells was heard behind them, but as soon as they turned to thank her, she was gone, as if she hadn't been there!

"Wait, what? How does one disappear like that?" asked the Spiral, and the Pearlcatcher gave a sort of confused look.

"Who knows? Maybe she closed the clearing quick enough that we didn't see her take off...?"

The two glanced at each other, and decided not to press the issue.

The Coatl was glad to help once again, her shrine always welcoming the weary and the needy. The next people would find her soon enough, as a soft bell chimes and the gentlest wind would guide them.
