The child of a Fire and an Earth dragon who settled in the Scarred Wasteland, Frefer is a wheeler and dealer of unparalleled craftiness. Or so he thinks at least. Frefer deals in whatever he can put paws on the Scarred Wasteland and can spin the finest yarn of how rare and valuable it is. He doesn't realize that many people buy his wares knowing he's just coating a pearl on them, but his tall tales and claims are entertaining enough that other dragons buy the thing he's pushing just as a pay for the entertainment.

He met his lady Sonya when she spun a fine yarn in a marketplace on the Wasteland about the tea she had to sell. Frefer bought the tea and tried to coat his own pearl when re-selling it. To a humorless Fae clan who identified the plants as weeds from the border between the Scarred Wasteland and Dragonhome and weren't interested.

Frefer managed to sell the "tea" to a small Earth Tundra band who collectively agreed it smelled like home and knew they'd forget his spin about it being grown in the most dark and dangerous depths of the Leviathan Trench soon enough. With treasure in his pockets, Frefer tracked down the other Pearlcatcher and found her wrangling passage on a ship leaving the Wandering Contagion across the Sea to head for new pastures. She bolted and Frefer chased after her.

Sonya was caught by her pursuer when her pearl fell out from the pockets of her tunic and Frefer picked it up, agreeing to give it back for just a single easy payment of hearing him out. And so the pair boarded that ship away together, headed for the Ashfall to continue their dealing and wheeling and coating pearls about their wares to anyone with some loose treasure.
