Draped in gold and glittering lights, one might be fooled into thinking Ibice merely ornamental, perhaps the consorts of one of the mercenaries on the battlefield proper. They certainly act the part, keeping to the edges of any fighting, and slipping away from any engagement. But look closer, and see: the fine mist covering the ground moves unnaturally, Ibic's eyes glow softly, and Ibac murmurs a soft chant under her breath. Ibice are, in truth, skilled mages, specializing in puppetry, possession, and long-distance spellcasting. They work in tandem like only an Aberration can, crafting spellwork of exquisite complexity, trading locomotion and mage-work back and forth flawlessly. They take great satisfaction in their command of a battlefield, and their homunculi are alwys perfectly placed to ward off a blow or take advantage of an enemy's distraction. Off the battlefield, Ibic spends their time crafting and repairing the homunculi Ibice pilot in battle, while Ibac pours her hours into refining the delicate spellwork used to control them. Ibice prefers not to engage with most civilians in most circumstances; they have encountered more than their fair share of superstitious fears of Emperors and bogeymen when an Aberration comes to town. Perhaps in part due to those bad experiences, neither Ibic nor Ibac are particularly socially inclined, and tend to hold themselves slightly aloof from their packmates.
