Dorne was always a quiet little one, lagging behind and daydreaming while their brothers boistered around and had fun like most hatchlings do at their age. They were the last one to be born in a clutch of three, 5 hours later than their brothers. Their mother always joked that it happened because their brothers were always chirpy and energetic, ready for a new adventure, while they much more preferred a nice and long nap. When it was time for they to leave the Clan, already an adult in the eyes of most dragons but as distant and detached as they were while a fragile hatchling, their caring mother whispered some wise words for them, and just for them, like it was just their little secret: "You've grown so much, my dear. You'll never be truly lost. Let the Wind guide you to your fate, and you'll be just fine, I know you'll be." That was the last thing they heard from their mother. The young Skydancer never said goodbye, never looked back, and even if they shed unwanted tears of homesickness for weeks, nobody ever saw. They never imagined they would have to take their mother's advice quite so literally when they spotted a injuried pup, who fled immediately after spotting the dragon. Following the trail of blood and smoke the small pup left behind, Dorne chased the Trick of the Light for hours, trying to capture the poor thing and tend to its wounds. When they finally reached the pup, it was very tired, wounds festering with infection and ragged breathing. They took care of the injuried fox with utmost attention, and they quickly Bonded and became good friends. Whisper, as Dorne called her, will protect Dorne at all costs, and it's common to a hostile dragon to receive many small, but painful bites from the quick and witty fox. Around 1 year later, Dorne stopped in the Ellora Clan to check the ruins out, and quickly fell in love with the Spodumene Catacombs, where they discovered their new-found talent of digging in search of the forgotten treasures of an ancient, extint race. Both they and their familiar often stay days inside the complex, unending tunnels, either slepping or working. While Whisper learned to scavenge for herself, Dorne often forgets to eat, and as a result other dragons have to make sure they don't starve themself, reminding the Skydancer to eat and drink something when needed. |
