DARK THEME/STORY AHEAD!!! PROCEED WITH CAUTION IF YOU'RE SENSITIVE!
-Sorrowrunner and Koi are based off characters in NocturnalSky's still unfinished postapocalyptic video game, which is set in one of NocturnalSky's story worlds. The character he's based off, Lytch, is a danger at night to the player if they leave the town and fall too far behind Solace (Koi's equivalent).
-Sorrow is Koi's little brother. They did not get along in life. They are enemies now.
-Sorrow is undead/immortal/cursed.
-Sorrow hides in the deep dark woods and eats the hatchlings on their way to new clans that got lost. Or he tricks them into getting lost if they weren't.
-His favourite breed are fae, although they aren't much to eat, his first meal of dragon meat was a fae.
-He is afraid of Koi's lantern lights and will flee, abandoning his prey, at first sight of him.
-Sorrowrunner has very corrosive blood and enhanced healing speed.
-Sorrow is nocturnal, and sunlight hurts his scales and eyes.
Sorrowrunner was born to a poor pair of parents in the nature flight. They never took great care of him, showing preference to his sisters and brother. When times got tough they sent him and his blind older brother (who he hated) to fodder. They were selected, and began to travel into the woods in the direction of their new clan.
Neither would ever make it, or set foot out of the woods again.
Lost, they argued and fought over directions. Why should he listen to his blind brother? They were lost for days, and were growing hungrier, and they hadn't been the only hatchlings lost in this part of the woods. They found a rotting fae corpse. Where Koi saw a terrible loss, Sorrowrunner saw a meal. Koi tried to physically stop him, but was instead injured mortally. Sorrow ate the fae, then his brother after watching him pass.
And so he was cursed.
He would never leave the woods again, and his belly would never be full. His appearance changed dramatically then, from a handsome young imperial to a hideous monster. Of course in response, he showed no remorse, and merely disguised himself as opportunities presented themselves (at least some lost travellers are going to have something he can wear) and got to know the forest. He began actively hunting passers-by, especially the defenseless hatchlings, and his brother's ghost could do nothing but watch sadly.
Eventually dragons got to talking, clans noticed when so many hatchlings went missing, and they began to suspect a monster was lurking in the woods. Naturally they sent someone to deal with it, and deal with it they did. Sorrowrunner was dispatched of, and all seemed safe again. It really wasn't, of course, but it SEEMED to be until the bounty hunter left. An angry phantom watched over his corpse. He vowed not to let this be the end of his forest feast, and with that vow he and his brother's ghost became immortal enemies, forever hunting and fighting each other, and trying to undo the others work.
