Biography
BELLATRIX
With surroundings of scorching hot sand, blazing sun, and burned flora it’s really no surprise that Bellatrix is hot as hell. Bella grew up in the desert. She spent days in the cool dark refuge of her home, researching the land around her. Amongst her belongings of gears wires and old relics, a rusty telescope collects dust. Dust from minutes, hours, even centuries ago. To move such a historic landing site would be a true pity. And so Bella let it be, for centuries more. Watching in the corner, the old telescope saw Bella with four limbs, and later with three. It saw her starved and cold in the winter droughts. It saw her patient nearing the summer equinox. And it saw if her glance, every so often, in its direction.
On a particularly long summer night, Bella looked up to the sky. Something drew her eyes to the northern hemisphere, and the black abyss became a fire storm of purple, red, gold and blue. Out of the silence came a humming. At first gentle, it soon revealed its origin. Bella ventures back inside, and immediately noticed something was arey. The dust was floating through the air, looking for a new landing spot. Like a dog shaking water off it’s back, the telescope was alive. The dust scattered, and the gold gleamed under the kaleidoscope of a sky.
Without thinking, Bella knew what to do. Picking up the telescope from it’s slumber, she wandered back outside. After taking a nervous breath, she brought it to her eye and peered into the electric sky.
The entirety of Sol’s Rest met her gaze. Something in Bella, something ancient, knew that they were here for her. Without thinking, she twirled, spun, and tinkered the gears of the telescope into a pattern too old and too obscure to ever repeat. Like the sun waking up a resting volcano, the colours of the galaxy shot out into the sky - a beacon for the great Sunspot to follow down to earth.
That is how Bella found herself in her new home. A home where dust never has a chance to settle, movements never become autonomous, and family is never more than a shout away.
