Biography
||The Plant Hunter||
With so many dragons out in the wilds of the Isles obsessing over plant life and a farmer tilling his fields out in the vale you’d think the clan would be stocked up on plant life but alas, there is always more work to be done! That’s where Nimmi comes in, a self proclaimed connoisseur of plants he is one of the main plant gatherers. A strange job for a plague dragon perhaps but as a tundra and herbivore he is actually pretty well suited for the job. While his magic doesn’t provide much of an advantage for most food collecting it does help greatly in one aspect, mushroom farming! Mushrooms are one of Nimmi’s all time favourite foods, but maybe don’t take any recommendations from him. A lot of time spent out sampling various things he really shouldn’t be has given him an iron stomach, it might be one of the other few benefits to being a plague dragon but he can eat poisonous mushrooms and berries like it’s nothing. Not in incredibly large doses mind you but then he just gets a stomach ache at worse rather than, ya’know, dying.
In order to farm mushrooms, he has several hidden locations in basically every territory in Sornieth, around four or five in each region. This allows him to cultivate a whole host of mushrooms in many different locations using natural debris local to those areas. Most of his time is spent gathering materials in these places before using his magic to fast forward the decay process, allowing various mushrooms to fruit. He regularly takes spore prints from these species and tries to get ahold of anything that might hold spores for later growth. He is most busy in the autumn as it is the time where he doesn’t have to work hard to make the ideal habitat. Nimmi also has a nose for truffles which always make for a delightful treat.
Another perk of plague magic comes in handy for his hobby, flower pressing and preservation. He still has to carefully prep the plants first, but then he is able to speed up the otherwise lengthy process and have amazing dried out specimens which he then uses to decorate his den, use for documentation or indeed give them to others for documentation. The various other plant enthusiasts of the clan love him for this trick, the healers often request his services so they always have an abundance of dried ingredients for their work. Nimmi absolutely adores his work and thrives of it being useful to nature dragons. He really hopes to break down some flight barriers and make friends with more of them.
