Biography
I am mad at her right now because out of the three times she's bred, the first two she only had one egg and this third time she's given me so much more... two whole eggs, total, this batch. GRR.
Update after the fourth litter: yeah, one egg again. You're a little bit ridiculous, kiddo. It's a good thing I love you.
She was a minor goddess so I've been able to find little about her, and some things are different in the only two sources I found (and who knows how accurate either of those sources even are, but at least it's something): "(female one who) was brought"; alternate forms of her name are Anit and Junit; a minor goddess of death, mentioned in The Book of the Dead, who had a close connection to Iah (a moon god); may also be the same as Iunit of Armant ("she of Armant" {Armant = Hermonthis, a town that gets its name from Montu, a war god}), who was a consort of Montu. Iunit is featured on an astronomical relief on the ceiling of the outer hypostyle (columned) hall in the Hathor Temple of Dendera, which features fourteen deities around the Eye of Horus. A facebook post with a 360-degree-photo of this was how I first heard of Iunit, as well as Tanenet, after whom I hope to name another dragon soon (the rest I had heard of, and most have dragons in my hoard named after them already).
Formerly named "Ebru". No idea why - that's just the name she came with. I try to name all my dragons (with a few exceptions) at least vaguely after Egyptian-themed things or people or places, so I changed it. I wanted something that was somewhat similar to the original, since she (and her sister, Meryt) sat in my lair for so long under her original name. Hers didn't end up as similar to the original as her sister's is, but I knew once I ran across the name Iunit that it was the name for her. At least they both start with a vowel. xD
