Backstory

He wakes up in a dark place, half-submerged in water. The newly-born dragon squeals and cries out for his parents. Where are they? He's so cold; he's so alone. It takes the young spiral a little time and a lot of energy to writhe his way out from the cave; collapsing on the ground just outside.

Animals approach throughout the day, seeing easy prey. But when they see hooves and abnormally long legs, they're just as fast to sprint back into the woods. They're scared that monstrous little thing could wake up, unsure of whether it's a dragon or a member of the beastclans.

Dusk has already set in before the hatchling wakes again, his scales shimmering and rippling in the dying light. Where does he go? What does he do? He's hungry, and he's cold.

Stumbling past the treeline, Billy hesitantly lets instincts guide him. A while of wandering on an empty stomach is worth it, though, as the little half-spiral uncovers an ant colony and happily begins to gorge himself.



Personality

Born with cloven hooves, and irregular patches of fluff poking out from beneath scales. Was Billy a mistake? Maybe. But he's still happy. It's a bit awkward trying to walk with such a long body to hold up, and his wings are so small they're useless.

But why worry about that? He can bounce around like a slinky, and reach high into trees to get fruit, like a longneck. Holding onto things may not be a simple task with hooves instead of claws, but on the other hand, it makes climbing a cakewalk! His ears may be bizarrely large compared to others', but that only means he has a superior sense of hearing! And- and his nose isn't weird, it's cute! Right?

Mean people tug at his fur and pull his ears, and call him names. It hurts more when people thought he was a scary demon, though, and ran away. Why are they scared? He doesn't mean any harm; he might have lots of big teeth, but he only uses them to crush up little bugs!

Someone will understand someday-- He knows it! All he has to do is be patient. Keep wandering, keep looking around for new friends; in fact, he already has a friend! Billy's already made strong bonds with his little collection of abandoned toys and trinkets- it's easy to collect them from around clans, and nobody misses them.
