Blotched Quetzeel 		He awoke in darkness, gasping for air as he burst from the dirt. He could only smell the musty scent of earth, and hear the low rumbling of wind.

“Where-”, He attempted to speak, but was met with an unfamiliar dry croak instead.

Was that… his voice? No, it couldn’t be!

Flipping to his feet, he shook the dirt off himself and ran as fast as he could. His claws digging into the ground, he followed the scent of fresh air until he could see a crack of sunlight. Bursting out from the tunnel's entrance, he found himself amidst a barren landscape, having emerged from one of the many caves behind him. Was this… the Cairnstone Rest? Why was he here, the last place he remembered being was at his home in the Colonnades of Antiquity…

Spotting a small puddle of water, he approached it. He was met with his own horrified expression, appalled by what he'd become. His once beautiful scales, now dirty and rotten; his once sharp spines, now dull and useless. For how long was he buried?

No, that wasn't important right now. His brother, where was he? There weren't any other bodies around when he woke up. He could only pray his brother was safe.

Gathering the abandoned rags that littered the Rest, he wrapped his rotten self up to the best of his ability. Looking into the horizon, he decided to journey outwards. His purpose was twofold; first, to discover his brother's fate, and second, to seek vengeance on the ones who ruined him.
