Luciel joined the Hotaru clan as a hatchling, looking for a place to put her talents to use. Her love of history drew her to Lorandiel and when she read his writings about the events that had happened to the Hotaru clan she immediately volunteered to work to gather both them and other historical novels dealing with the various Ages. It was Luciel's idea to a library, although Lorandiel's support actually got the structure built since she was quickly drawn back into her work and forgot to ask the other's in the clan for help.
Luciel is vaguely attracted to Lorandiel, although her work always comes first. While initially both the manager of the library and the person in charge of collecting the works with which to fill it, Luciel soon realized both tasks were too big for one person. Impressed by Weigela's attention to detail, she had soon hired them to be the clan's librarian. After that, she continued to hire other workers to help make the library better. Luciel and Amaros do not get along due to her attempts to get him to share his personal library with the clan.
